“75 Roses”, a unique concert in Zurich
Music and poetry by Roma, Sinti and Yenish – 75 years on

On Saturday, 12 September, a unique musical event took place in the cloister of the Grossmünster in Zurich: The Roma music group “Ssassa” played together with violinist Markus Reinhardt, great-nephew of Django Reinhardt, and Sinto guitarist Rudi Rumstajn from Cologne. The artists performing also included the Bulgarian Romni singer Meryem Anachkovka and the 14-year-old young Yenish talent Cheyenne, as well as the theatre artist Federico Pfaffen for the accompanying poetry reading. The event was organised to commemorate the end of the war, the victims and the Roma and Sinti who were liberated from the concentration camps 75 years ago.
